Street Level Nine has its origins in the streets of NYC graffiti and the urban lifestyle. We are a team of cool-headed pros with the experience required to conceptualize, create, manage and execute the latest in a compelling fashion-forward apparel line.

Joseph DeRoche: Street Level Nine Founder

Joe, aka Joey or Rocket-TPA, is a celebrated NYC graffiti writer from the 1970's and one of the original founders of TPA.

TPA, an acronym for The Public Animals, is the legendary graffiti crew formed in 1976 by three budding graffiti writers; Vade, Demo & Rocket–born and raised in the sleepless streets of New York City. TPA was and is always about the connection between all peoples, a "multi-culti" love that has continued to grow from the NYC streets to global awareness with admirers and fans worldwide

Today, TPA thrives on five continents and continues making metropolitan boulevard history having become the largest and longest-running graffiti crew in history. With street-art reaching greater plateaus as technology and functions improve, the barriers that once divided people are far fewer.

"TPA–The Grandest Graffiti Crew in aerosol history" says Joseph DeRoche. "It was destiny for me to create a beautiful panorama of international membership from all continents, races, genders, colors and ages, without barriers. It was my dream destined for reality. Making history was never my motive, nor was ego or fame. Rather, I wanted to bring together an assortment of individuals of different styles and cultures to find a means to encourage harmony through the fun of mutual risk and art forms."

Joe is now once again bringing his status and voice to everyone through the Street Level Nine brand; clothes for the urban animal delivered to the streets from the original Public Animal.
